Swans don’t hug the same way that we do, these birds don’t have long featherless arms that can wrap around someone in a hug but what they do have is a long neck

How to get a swan to hug you:
The number one thing that you’d need to keep in mind if you want a swan to hug you is to make sure that the bird feels comfortable around you, the bird won’t relax and feel comfortable around you if it doesn’t like you
You can get the bird to get used to you at first by getting into the bird’s space, don’t do this so much that the bird gets uncomfortable but get in the space enough that the bird notices you and sees that you aren’t a threat
Once the bird realizes that you aren’t a threat, the bird will act more relaxed around you, and even come toward you, the bird will not have its guard up too much if it does this
You can then move on to leaving food for the bird and letting the bird come to eat it and then you can move onto giving the bird food from your hand when the bird comes to you
Once the birds are happy with the above you can then move on to petting the bird slowly. The bird will soon recognize you as a friend and will hug you soon enough.
