Small changes in your bird’s behavior can tell you more about the bird, this includes how the bird sees you.
If your bird starts looking at you sideways then you may be wondering why, this article looks into why this happens
Why does my bird look at me sideways?
Your bird staring at you is quite typical behavior, but, knowing why the bird stares at you is still important.
Here is why your bird looks at you sideways:
Birds have the ability to focus on objects to the sides of them not only on objects in front of them.
This ability to see what is in front of them using both of their eyes is called binocular vision.
The bird’s ability to focus on what is to the side of it is called monocular vision.
If your bird chooses to look at you from the side then it is likely curious and alert about you.
It will look at you from the side to discretely keep an eye on you, it will not stare straight on.
Staring straight on would alert you that it is looking at you.
The bird may be looking at you because it is concerned, worried, distracted, or simply curious about you.
